What to expect at your appointment

We start with a quick chat about your preferred style, your skin, and any sensitivities. Hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grip — about a quarter of an inch, roughly 6 mm — so try to stop shaving about ten days beforehand. If it is a bit longer, we can trim for comfort.

Your skin is cleansed and a light oil or powder may be used to protect it. Wax is applied in small sections and removed quickly. A soothing gel or oil is applied after. A classic bikini can take around 15 minutes, while Brazilian or Hollywood can take up to about 40 minutes, depending on hair and chosen style. Most first-timers say it was quicker and easier than they expected.

How to prepare (and make it easier)

In the day or two before your visit, gently exfoliate the area to lift dead skin. On the day, keep the skin clean and avoid heavy lotions or fragranced products. Wear loose clothing so the area can breathe after your wax. Nervous? Tell us your therapist will guide you, pause when needed, and keep you comfortable throughout.

Does it hurt?

You will feel brief stings as the wax comes off, especially the first time. Good technique, quality wax, and small sections make a big difference. Most people find it gets easier with regular waxing because regrowth softens over time.

Aftercare for smooth, happy skin

Some redness is normal for a short time. For the first 24–48 hours, keep things cool and clean and avoid heat, steam rooms, hot baths, tight clothing, heavy exercise, fragranced products, and swimming. From 48–72 hours, begin gentle exfoliation a few times a week and keep the skin hydrated to help reduce ingrown hairs. 

How long will it last, and how often should I book?
